Telecommunications Division (TD)/Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides the following services to the University community:

• Wiring for voice, data and video systems
  • Design and install new cable plant for renovation and new construction
  • Track moves, adds and changes for existing inside cable plant

• Procurement and installation of voice, data and video electronics

  • LAN design, specify and install routers, aggregation and access switches
  • Video system design, specify and install components, RUTV activation

• Acquisition, processing, transportation and distribution of Rutgers University TeleVision (RUTV) network's 64 channels and other dedicated video signals.

Network Plant - Cable/Fiber and Video
Telecommunications Network Plant Services

• Design, implement, document and maintain university's fiber optic cable distribution system (including right-of-way acquisition) and CATV Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) video distribution system
• Infrastructure design and documentation (CAD, Cable Management and GIS) for telecommunications cable plant.
