Telecommunications Division (TD) Office of Information Technology (OIT) Provides The Following Services To The University Community:
Project Management Services
- The Telecommunications Division (TD) Project Management Office (PMO) Is Responsible For Management Of TD Projects For The NB/P, Camden And Newark Campus Communities. Projects Range From Large Telecommunication Implementations Supporting New Construction And Renovations To Smaller Requests For Departmental Telecommunication Upgrades And/Or Enhancements.
- Project Management Responsibilities Include Project Planning & Scheduling, Budget Development, Coordination & Tracking Of Project Activities, Risk Management, And Project Metric Reporting.
- Customer Relationship Management Responsibilities Include Leading And/Or Facilitating Project Initiation, Client Needs Assessment, Proposal Development, Procurement And Project Execution. The PMO Manages Project Activities Across The Various TD Disciplines To Ensure “Coordinated Efficiencies” And Transparency For TD Clients.
- Responsible For Outreach And Communication Activities That Promote TD Services And Practices In Order To Help Clients Fully Leverage TD Capabilities.
- Utilizes Industry Best Practices And Methodologies To Ensure The Delivery Of High Quality Solutions On-Time And Within Budget.
Construction Management Services
- Design And Install New ISP Cable Plant For New Construction And Renovations.
- Provide Design And Layout Input On Telecommunications Space And Server Room Layout.
- Manage The Telecommunications Cabling Component For Renovations And New Construction, Using Internal And External Resources.
- Provide A Design Service And An Implementation Mechanism For Installing New Cable Plant.
- Provide Labor Resources For Moves, Adds And Changes To Existing Cabling Infrastructure.
- Provide A Telephone Repair Service For Cabling Issues And Instrument Replacement.

- Acquisition, Processing, Transportation And Distribution Of Rutgers University Television (RUTV) Network's 64 Channels And Other Dedicated Video Signals.
- Campus Dialups
- Circuit Ordering And Coordination
- Design And Connectivity To Rutgers Locations
- Device Configuration Management (Routers/Switches)
- Device Installation And Services For Faulty Equipment
