DSL & Cable Modems:
Neither DSL nor Cable modem services are currently available through the University.  While these connections are available through direct vendors, it is important to note that these connections provide outside ISP services, and will not provide direct access to RUNet.  For example, certain Rutgers websites may only provide services to address space identifiable from Rutgers University-only address space. External access to resources restricted to university address space can be accomplished through the university Virtual Private Networking (VPN) service.
