- Other TD Tools
There are a number of TD functions that, while related to NetDB, could not be included in the initial release.
- AAA access: While the TD AAA access agreement attempts to mirror the NCG hierarchy, the two tools use distinct datasets for both groups and users.
- Layer 1/2/3 host information: NetDB tracks only layer 3 host information - information from lower layers can be found with the L1/L2/L3 tool.
- Switch Access: Access to or information about departmental switches is currently not a part of NetDB. Please use the port change request form instead.
- Monitoring: There are no plans to have NetDB reflect network or device status as of yet. Please use the existing TD tools.
- Getting Additional Help
Additional help with NetDB issues (and bug reports) can be obtained/submitted through the Rutgers Network Operations Center, reachable via the following means:
- email: noc@rutgers.edu
- phone: +1 (732) 445-7541
Please be aware that issue resolution may be delayed should the NOC need to contact our development group to solve your problem.
- Known Bugs
- Host query limit
To safeguard against a system resource monopolization, there is a limit on the number of hosts which can be returned in a single query. This limit may prevent some searches. - Bulk RP change operation limits
There are currently known issues with the 'bulk RP change' tag of the XML DTD. The function works for smaller numbers of hosts but has an (unknown) upper limit. Attempting to change too many hosts with this operation will result in a silent failure. Our services group is researching.
